This out-of-the-ordinary tour will take you from Buenos Aires, Argentina through Bolivia to Lima, Peru in a 21-day, once-in-a-lifetime adventure! We will take travelers from the iconic city of Buenos Aires to Tucuman, from where we visit the famous wine region of Cafayate. You then travel on the iconic “Tren a las Nubes” on the famous C-14 Line and continue the journey through the incredible landscape of the Uyuni Salt Flats to La Paz in Bolivia. We then continue into Peru to Lake Titicaca. From the lake we continue our trek north to Cusco onboard Peru Rail’s Titicaca Express. Finally we take the train to the wonder of the world known as Machu Picchu and beyond. This journey brings you to many of the region’s must-see sites, but you’ll also explore some tourist destinations that are frequently omitted from most other mainstream tours, including Cafayate, the Quebrada de Humahuaca, Uyuni and Lake Titicaca, among others.
Day 1 Sunday September 6:
You arrive with your International flight in Buenos Aires. Transfer to your Hotel. For the rest of the day, you have free time to explore the city.
Day 2 Monday September 7: (B-D)
Buenos Aires City Tour. Discover the most important neighborhoods and landmarks in Buenos Aires during a half-day city tour. Admire the Obelisk, the symbol of Buenos Aires, and the many open squares of colonial Spanish descent. The visit to La Boca neighborhood and a walk on the “Caminito Street” are other highlights of the tour. In the evening, we celebrate our welcome dinner at the Tango show of “El Querandi”. You’ll then spend a 2nd night at our hotel in Buenos Aires.
Day 3 Wednesday September 8: (B-L)
We board a boat at Puerto Madero and head to Tigre. The cruise goes along the Costanera Navigation Canal, parallel to the Buenos Aires shoreline, passing the River Plate Stadium and the University of Buenos Aires. Then, we cruise through the canals of the delta, one of the largest in the world. We have lunch before heading to the Tigre train station, where we will take a train back to the city of Buenos Aires. 3rd night in Buenos Aires.

Day 4 Wednesday September 9: (B-L-D)
Transfer to the airport in Buenos Aires for our flight to Tucuman in North Westerm Argentina. After a short panoramic city tour in Tucuman we continue our journey through the Calaqui Valley to Colalao del Valle before we reach Cafayate which famous for its wines. Hotel check-in.
Day 5 Thursday September 10 : (B-L)
We do a walk inside a viñard under the guidance of a local wine specialist. Discover the famous Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Tannat grapes. We have some wine tasting in one of the best-known wineries of the valley, just outside of Cafayate. Lunch we have in a typical house in the middle of a vineyard , within walking distance of our hotel. The rest of the afternoon you have free time. 2nd night in Cafayate.
Day 6 Friday September 11: (B-L)
We leave Cafayate in the morning following the Rio Las Conchas towards Salta. We check into our hotel in Salta after lunch. In the afternoon, we will do a short tour of Salta and visit the San Bernardo hill from where you have an amazing view over the city.
Day 7 Saturday September 12: (B-L-D)
We drive with our vehicle from Salta to the small town of San Antonio de los Cobres. In San Antonio de los Cobres, we embark in the Train to the Clouds and travel to the Polvorilla Viaduct at 4,200 meters (13’780 ft) above sea level on the famous C-13 line running to Chile. You will have 30 minutes to take photos of our train and the viaduct before we reboard the train. This is the highest excursion train operating in all of Argentina. We have lunch in San Antonio de los Cobres before we return to Salta in the evening. Overnight in Salta.

Day 8 Sunday September 13: (B-L-D)
We say bye to Salta and head north by motorcoach to the Quebrada de Humahuaca, a UNESCO listed valley. The valley is characterized by steep rock faces that change colors constantly depending on the hour of the day and from where you view them. Authentic dusty indigenous villages are spread along the route north. We stay overnight in Humahuaca.

Early morning we continue north so that we reach the Bolivian border before midday. If time permits, we do a short tour of Villazon before we board the “Wara Wara Express” for the train ride to Uyuni. The train reaches Uyuni early morning. Transfer to Colchani and hotel check-in.

Day 10 Tuesday September 15: (B-L-D)
We visit the train cemetery just outside of Uyuni where we explore various oxidized steam engines and wagons on this spectacular site surrounded by amazingly unique scenery. In Colchani, we visit a salt processing plant and witness traditional salt extraction methods. At the Incahuasi Island (known as Fisher Island) in the middle of the world’s largest salt flat, you see amazing giant cactus. Lunch will be served in the middle of the salt flat.

Day 11 Wednesday September 16: (B-L-D)
In the morning we visit and watch salt excavation. We then go to a viewpoint above Coquesa Village from where you have fantastic views over the salt flat. Lunch is a Picnic on the central square in Coquesa. We drive over the salt flat to the Uyuni Airport, then take the evening flight to La Paz and hotel check-in.

Day 12 Thursday September 17: (B-L)
Today we take you on a city tour of La Paz which is a fascinating city. Discover the indigenous Cosmo-vision and their mystical rituals at the Witches Market. The San Francisco Church, the historical district around the main square and the “Plaza Murillo” with the Legislative and the Government Palace are other sights of interest that we visit. Enjoy breathtaking views of La Paz from the Killi Killi viewpoint. We’ll return to our hotel in the afternoon.
Day 13 Friday September 18: (B)
You have a free day in La Paz to relax and explore the city on your own.

Day 14 Saturday 19: (B-L-D)
From La Paz, we travel to Copacabana, a small town on the Bolivian side of the Lake Titicaca. From Copacabana, we cruise to the Sun Island where we have an Aptapi, a typical lunch. In the afternoon, we cruise along the Sun Island to visit the ruins of the Pilkokaina Inca temple before we return to Copacabana where we stay overnight.
Day 15 Sunday September 20: (B-L-D)
In the morning you have free time in Copacabana. You can participate in a tour where we visit the Sanctuary of the Virgin of Copacabana. We have lunch at the hotel. In the afternoon, we cross the nearby border to Peru and after a 3 hours drive, we reach the city of Puno. The rest of the day you have free time. We stay overnight in the outskirts of Puno.

Day 16 September 21: (B-L-D)
This morning we go to the train station at Puno and board the “Peru Rail Titicaca Train” for the 211 mile journey north to Cusco. This fascinating journey goes through a scenic high Andean countryside. In La Raya, the train reaches its highest point at 15,177 feet. The downhill train ride to Cusco goes through endless pastures and calls at remote villages, reaching Cusco in the evening. Hotel check-in The Peru Rail Titicaca train features an open-air observatory car, allowing you to take in the majestic views while enjoying the typical music and dances of the Peruvian highlands. During your trip, you will have the chance to take panoramic pictures of some of the quintessential Andean landscapes. The route is considered by many travel magazines to be one of the most beautiful in the world, with a trip that lasts ten and a half hours. At the start of the journey, passengers are welcomed where local musicians will provide background music as you board the train. Once aboard, you can enjoy the two dining cars decorated in the style of the Pullman cars of the 1920s. Also, during the trip, you will have the finest in gourmet food.

Day 17 Tuesday September 22: (B-L)
We visit the picturesque small town of Pisaq. Walk on cobble stoned streets and watch artisans doing their daily chores. We have lunch at the hotel where we spend the night. In the afternoon, we visit Ollantaytambo before we return to Cusco where we stay overnight.

Day 18 Wednesday September 23: (B-L)
We travel with the Incarail First Class Train from Cusco San Pedro Station to Aguas Calientes. We have lunch on the train. An expert guide will show us Machu Picchu, the Lost City of the Incas. In the afternoon, we return to Aguas Caliente to board the Hiram Bingham Train to Porroy (Cusco). We enjoy a gala dinner during the train journey. We stay overnight in Cusco.

Day 19 September 24: (B-L)
We do a city tour of Cusco in the morning. One of the highlights is the Santo Domingo Convent, which is built over an ancient Inca Palace. Outside of Cusco, we visit the Inca military fortress Sacsayhuaman. Later, we have a look at the Inca ruins of Qenko, Puca-Pucara and Tambomachay. In the afternoon, you have free time. We stay overnight in Cusco.
Day 20 Friday September 25 (B-L)
We transfer to the airport in Cusco to board the flight to Lima. Enjoy an interesting city tour of Lima’s colonial past. We invite you to our “Farewell Lunch” in one of Lima’s famous restaurants. We spend the night in Lima.
Day 21 Saturday September 26: (B)
Morning at leisure. At the agreed time, our guide transfers you to the international airport in time to board the flight back to your home country.
